James (“Jim”) Spinner obtained his law degree from the University of Idaho in 1985. Jim maintains a private practice in commercial law and estate planning. He is also a special deputy attorney general for the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, Child Support Services.
Jim served as a member of the board of governors for the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy section, (2004-2010, chairman, 2009); is a former officer of the Sixth District Bar Association (2007-2010, president, 2009). He is a member of the Idaho Law Foundation /Idaho State Bar’s law related education committee. Jim is a CASA volunteer, and was an adjunct instructor in the Paralegal Studies program for many years. Jim is a recipient of the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section professionalism award, as well as a pro bono award from the Idaho State Bar. Jim enjoys traveling to places far and wide and numerous outdoor activities, including hiking, skiing, biking, and a good game of horseshoes.
